The ITS RX-7's are always up for sale somewhere in the country. I almost bought one 3 years ago $7k with everything included plus several spare sets of tires, a spare motor/tranny/suspension. BTW...your blogs been waiting for you! You've got so much interesting things going on right now, we want to see pictures and hear your story! `Gus

I went out and purchased a race car guys. It's an 86 RX-7 Turbo with ~220 hp and ~2200 lbs. I will run it a handful of times at autocross this year going back and forth between it and the GT3. I'm registered for 4/20 FCSSC at Stratford airport. It will run in XP since BP is going away. I've got a set of R888's. The car will make it's debut at Lime Rock this Thursday (4/10) with SCDA.
I nuetered the GT3 and put Michelin PS2's on it. They will last longer for street driving than the PSC's. 2-3 sets of tires in the GT3 per year is just cost prohibitive. Tires for the race car are much, much cheaper. |

1. 05 STi 2. STU 3. Cobb intake, Cobb Access port, Maddad V2 single cat divorced waste gate downpipe, Apex'i World sport noir cat back. Kartboy SS, Whiteline 27mm adjustable FSB, Whiteline rear poly swaybar bushings. Goodridge Stainless lines, Hawk HPS pads, ATE Super Blue fluid. Zeal Function V6 coilovers with front and rear pillowball mounts and camber plates, 10k/8k springs. 1.5 degrees of camber all around. Thinking of going with -2 up front. Stock gold wheels. Corner balenced to 50% cross weight with 1/4 tank of gas and me in the car. 4. Falken Azenis 245/45/17 since that is the widest tire allowed in STU for an AWD car. and I find Azenises have the best dollar to performance ratio.

It isn't pretty in any way, but it sure moves nicely around the turns at Lime Rock. It is very stiff and comfortable to drive hard. It is nuetral which helps to make it easy to drive. Without question it is a momentum car as it has very little power compared to the GT3. I was able to turn 65.3 around LRP yesterday on unshaved Toyo R888's in lieu of motor and clutch issues. The motor stumbles and it is incredibly difficult to shift. The clutch slave needs to be bled/replaced and the TPS probably needs to be replaced. With the 2 issues solved I would easily be into the 64's.
I'll have to tighten the belts a bit to get to 61's where I need to be to be competitive in top 5 in NASA and SCCA club racing. The guys running SCCA ITS with normally aspirated motors are making more power than my untuned turbo motor. I like to think the poor paintwork and body damage adds character. I may fix it. I may not.

Nice FC Mike. The one I was looking at years back looked almost like this (white with some custom paint job on it) one.
Glad you're doing so much racing these days. Although I won't be seeing your GT3 in action anytime soon, I wish you the best in racing man! `Gus
